All Creatures Veterinary Health Centre was opened in September 2003 by husband and wife team, Ciaran and Gillian Montague.

The original clinic was set up within a small industrial unit in Rathbuan Business Park on the Greystone Road, Limavady.  The unit was studded out into a small purposely designed clinic with the assistance of family tradesmen and friends. Ciaran and Gillian, although excited, knew that setting up a business would never be easy but the early hardships paid off and within a year of setting up, Gillian had won the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her role in setting up the business and the business had been awarded Best New Business and Best Service Business in the local Roe Valley business awards.

The clinic introduced a number of new benefits for local pet owners at that time including an appointment system to dramatically reduce waiting times, immediate attention for emergency cases, nurse clinics, a PDSA subsidised treatment scheme for pet owners on benefits, orthopaedic surgery within the local area and a dermatology referral service.

The business aimed to offer a one-shop-stop for all a pet's needs and also provided a grooming, boarding and pet food retail service in its early years.

Within 5 years, the clinic had started to outgrow the Rathbuan premises and the property downturn allowed the business to invest in the Edenmore Road site in 2009. Building the new clinic on the Anderson Avenue site on the Edenmore Road commenced in June 2012 and was completed in December 2012, by Alan Miller of Sperrin View Construction, some three weeks ahead of schedule. Sacrificing the Christmas holidays in 2012 allowed the monumental task of transferring the business equipment across from the old premises to the new premises.

The new clinic officially opened  in July 2013, having an open day in aid of PDSA, with attack and sniffer dog demonstrations, a dog show, bouncy castles, a barbecue, a petting zoo of farm animals and tours of the new surgery. Ciaran and Gillian have invested heavily in introducing new and improved features of an ultra modern veterinary clinic to the local pet owners including a hydrotherapy pool, class IV laser therapy, advanced orthopaedic equipment including new cruciate repair techniques such as TTA, on site accommodation for nursing staff and vets with 24 hour supervision of pets, under floor heating for the animal runs, additional training courses for the team and pleasant, airy, comfortable surroundings for the patients and owners.

The practice still caters for all budgets although strongly recommends that you have pet insurance to allow your pet to benefit from the latest innovations in veterinary diagnostics and treatment.

The growth achieved in the new clinic has allowed All Creatures to expand to three full time pet vets. It has taken time to get there, and not without growing pains, but the clinic now has its best team ever and is eager to provide the best level of care for your pet.
